"Tiger "

This African necklace
isn't to clear to see.
It has bone
elephants and
fertility goddess
carved from bone.

As I was making this it started
looking like a "Tiger" so that's
how this one happened. You
can always change your ideas
as you are working on  a necklace

Treasure Hunt

I found the fabric for this
skirt after I had finished making the necklace.
You really go on a "Treasure Hunt" when creating these wearable
art necklaces.

Just wanted to see how these colors would look together.
I tried to gave it a
Precolumbian look by
adding the "tunis"

This is a large necklace
with the Mayan theme.

African Queen

This necklace was so exciting to plan and even think about because I collect African trade beads and knew they would find a place in this piece.  First, I decided to use earth tones of the Serengeti plains, and some hand carved camel bone elephant beads had to be added.  The brass face looked kind of plain so I decorated it with hair (threads and small beads) to jazz it up.  Clam shell sections dangle from the bottom with antique looking gold cone beads.   This necklace is one of the largest I've created, and while not wearing, would look fantastic anywhere you would want to display it.

African Face

The inspiration for this necklace started with just an African brass face pendant, then I noticed a small exotic perfume bottle and it turned into the body.   While looking through my abundant treasures, I discovered the helping hand charms.  All the African face needed were legs, and a couple of Ecudorian brass spoons served the purpose.  I could have used many various colors of threads for this project but somehow the purples and mauve hues entwined with gold threads are perfect.

Stone face carving from Mexico insprired a Mayan look.

Australian Treasures
Australian aborigine fabric
was the inspiration for this necklace.

You can't see the fish in the
aborigine fabric but I tried to
bring out the design by adding
the bone fish at the bottom.

Inca Face
All of the metal in the picture of ladies head gear was the inspiration for this piece. I added a metal Inca face.

Finger Puppet

A friend of mine had this metal
finger puppet and wanted
something made in these colors.
It was so much fun to create.

Oriental Blue

Here you can see the graph
paper being colored to start
the designing of this piece.
 The oriental earring made a
great center focal point.
